Employment Tribunal Fees
Previously, anyone wishing to bring an employment tribunal claim could do so without paying any fees. Over the summer, this has changed. The government has passed some of the cost of the employment tribunal service from the tax payer to the end user. From 29 July anyone wishing to bring a claim or appeal must pay a fee. A further fee is payable shortly before the hearing date. The fees range from £160 to £950 and it costs £1,200 to reach the hearing of an unfair dismissal claim.
